The Bharat Mata Janhit Trust

 

Bharat Mata Janhit Trust is a charitable trust that focuses on providing educational support to underprivileged children. The trust provides free education, medical, boarding and lodging facilities to these children so that they can become part of the mainstream society at the end  of their education.

Headquartered in Haridwar, the trust has offices in London UK and New Kufri, in Shimla and ashrams across the country.

The Head of the Trust is His Holiness Swami Satyamitranand Giriji Maharaj.

 

The Trust has constructed the Bharat Mata Mandir in Haridwar, a temple that is dedicated to all brave and beloved sons born of the Indian Soil. The Trust has also constructed an ashram in Kufri, near Shimla, and plans are afoot to construct a temple in the land adjacent to the ashram.

The ashram serves to be a non-profit organization, aiming to provide accommodation to tourists visiting Shimla.

 

Religious Tourism in Shimla

 

Shimla, as we know, is  famous as a hill station, but how many of you know that Shimla also has a religious fervour to its name? Shimla has some very famous temples that attract numerous religious tourists from across the country. The Hanuman Temples at Jakhu and Sankat Mochan attract numerous visitors throughout the year.

 

The temple at Tara Devi is dedicated to Maa Tara and is situated on a hillock overlooking Shimla. During the Navratra festivals, hordes of people visit the temple to seek the blessings of Maa Tara.

The temple at Kali Bari is extremely famous and dedicated to Goddess Kali. Goddess Kali is venerated extensively in Eastern India, especially in West Bengal and the Seven Sister States. During the Navratras, Goddess Kali's Pooja is celebrated as Durga Puja, on the 8th day of the festivities. Tourists from as far as West Bengal, Orissa and Assam make it a point to visit Kali Bari during the Navratras.
